Why Gateway BHC and Rezilient Health Are Starting With Primary Care

September 23, 2026

Healthcare costs keep rising. Employees struggle to get timely appointments. And employers are left trying to solve an increasingly complex problem with more programs, more vendors and more point solutions.

We believe there’s a better place to start: primary care.

Gateway Business Health Coalition and Rezilient Health announce a new partnership to expand access to advanced primary care for Gateway BHC employers and their employees nationwide.

For Rezilient, the partnership represents an opportunity to work alongside one of the country’s longest-standing employer health coalitions to address a challenge nearly every employer shares: making healthcare easier to access, easier to navigate and more effective at managing total cost.

Why primary care?

Primary care should be the front door to healthcare. But too often, that front door is difficult to open.

Employees may wait weeks for an appointment, turn to urgent care or the emergency room when they cannot get in, or delay care altogether. And when they do receive care, navigating the next step can mean finding a specialist, understanding their network, scheduling another appointment and starting over with a new provider.

That fragmentation creates frustration for employees and contributes to the cost and complexity employers are trying to manage.

As Laurel Pickering, President and CEO of Gateway Business Health Coalition, put it:

“Primary care is foundational to solving employers’ biggest challenges around cost and quality. When employees have real access to a primary care provider, preventive care and chronic condition management improve, and the utilization patterns that drive higher costs and poorer health outcomes begin to change.”

That’s where Rezilient comes in.

A different approach to primary care

Rezilient was built to give employees a simple place to start for their healthcare needs and help them navigate what comes next.

Through Rezilient’s unique hybrid CloudClinic model, an in-person clinical medic works alongside a provider joining live over secure video. Connected diagnostic devices allow the provider to conduct a physical exam, while testing, labs and basic imaging can be completed during the visit.

Members can access same-day primary and urgent care, with fully virtual care available when an in-person visit isn’t needed.

The model doesn’t stop at the primary care visit.

Rezilient also connects members to specialty consults across 70+ specialties and provides care navigation to help people understand their options, find appropriate in-network care and move through the healthcare system more easily.

The goal is simple: resolve more at the front door and help people get the right care at the right time.

“Our goal isn’t simply to give employers another primary care option,” said Danish Nagda, MD, CEO and founder of Rezilient Health.

“We want to help change the economics of care by intervening earlier, resolving more at the front door and helping people get the right care when they need it.”

Built in St. Louis. Designed to scale beyond it.

This partnership also has special significance for Rezilient.

We were founded in St. Louis, and Gateway BHC has spent more than four decades bringing employers together to improve healthcare quality and value.

Now, we have an opportunity to invest even more deeply in the community where Rezilient started while bringing the model to Gateway BHC members and their employees across the country.

That combination matters.

Healthcare is local. Employers want solutions that can work across increasingly distributed workforces, but they also need strong connections to the healthcare systems, providers and communities where their people live.

This partnership gives us an opportunity to build toward both.

Primary care is the starting point

The challenges employers face in healthcare won’t be solved by simply adding another benefit.

They require a more connected approach.

That starts with making it easier for people to access high-quality primary care. From there, it means helping members navigate specialty care, make better-informed decisions and stay connected throughout their healthcare journey.

That’s what Gateway BHC and Rezilient are building together.

And we’re just getting started.

One Connected Front Door to Care

Rezilient Health combines in-person care at local CloudClinics, virtual care, and coordinated care navigation into a single hybrid model — replacing a stack of disconnected point solutions. See how we partner with self-funded employers.
