What is a Well Child Check and why it matters for teens
November 10, 2025

As kids grow, their health needs change fast. Between sports, school, and social life, it’s easy to overlook an annual check-up, but these visits do more than confirm your child is “cleared” for activities.
A Well Child Check is an essential part of staying on top of your child’s overall wellness, especially through the teenage years.
A comprehensive look at health and development
For children ages 12 and older, a Well Child Check offers a complete picture of their physical and mental wellbeing. It’s a chance to assess growth, screen for potential health concerns, and talk about everything from nutrition and sleep to stress, mood, and daily habits.
Your child’s provider will perform a thorough physical and psychological evaluation, making sure they’re not only fit to play, but thriving in all areas of life.
What’s included (and what’s not)
Your child’s Well Child Check will include:
- A physical exam to assess overall health
- A psychological screening to check on emotional wellbeing
- A discussion of healthy lifestyle habits and any concerns you or your child may have
What’s not included:
- Immunizations: Rezilient does not supply or administer immunization vaccines in our CloudClinics. Families should see a pediatric provider to stay up-to-date on their child’s vaccination schedule.
- Puberty assessments: Because these evaluations are highly sensitive and not appropriate for virtual care, they must be done in person by a pediatric provider.
When to schedule
We recommend scheduling a Well Child Check once every year, ideally before the start of a new school year or sports season. These visits not only help ensure your child is healthy today but also set the foundation for lifelong wellness habits.
If your child is due for their annual check, you can easily book a Well Child Check through your Rezilient account and choose a time that works best for your family.
